How does it work?Best Nannies is a child care job site – a simple way to find your own babysitter, nanny or au-pair, one membership allows you to contact all the babysitters directly, our unique matching system will help you to find the carer that you want.
If you are looking for a Part time / Full time nanny or Au-pair our consultant will be more than happy to meet with you and discuss your expectations, family needs or any other requirements. Then we start the searching process of the right carer for you. We will refer you few suitable candidates and you just need to chose !
What is the difference between a nanny and a babysitter?A nanny is usually an experience person, employed during the day and have sole charge of the children. She is responsible for the day to day activities / care of the children eg.
A babysitter is classified as someone who typically takes care of children after working hours (from 6 pm). Their main role is caring for the children and the dinner / bedtime routine
Who are the babysitters and nannies?Our Nannies range from University students to professional child care workers with years of experience, you can also find nannies with various different skill levels – let us know exactly what you need and we will do our very best to find the best match for your family.
Which areas do you cover?We are specialized in Eastern Suburbs of Sydney but we have carers living in different areas in Sydney so we are sure we always find the right person to look after your child(ren).
Do I need an insurance?One of the biggest reason why to find your carer through Best Nannies is that we cover all our nanies/babysitters and Au pairs under our Public Liability insurance, so you don't need to have an insurance but if the carer is required to use your car – we recommend you add their name in your policy.
Am I guaranteed to find a nanny?We have a large network of nannies enlisted with us, what that means is we are not only able to find one for you but also one that most likely suits your needs.
Ultimately, there is no guarantee – but we will do our absolute best to make you happy.
Do you screen the carers?Yes, we interview and screen all our Part time / Full time nannies and Au-pair candidates. We interview them personally and we also check their documents, such as passport, drivers licence, visa, Police Check, Working with children Check and First Aid Certificate. Parents can also conduct phone screenings, interviews and reference checks before scheduling a start date.
Best Nannies will assist you to make the right choice, the online profiles show which carers have had police checks done, first- aid certificates, drivers licence and references available. The carer brings these documents to your interview if you require to show you first-hand, so you can be certain that the checking is complete and thorough.
Are they well - experienced?Best Nannies has a broad range of babysitters and nannies available, from experienced nannies, carers who have worked in childcare centers“ to the girls that have babysat for years. So, no matter what level of skill and experience you’re after, Best Nannies has it!
Who pays the Carer?You employ the carer directly and you are responsible for tax/superannuation obligations. The carer may be self-employed and contract directly to you. The carer would then be responsible for their own tax obligations.
How much should I pay the nanny or babysitter?Rate is based upon experience and skill level. It’s also based on how many children the nanny will look after, how many hours she will have to work and her additional duties.
Generally, a parent can expect to pay between $20 to $30 per hour.
This rate is agreed between the nanny and the parents, so feel free to negotiate your own rate with your nanny or babysitter, but please keep the industry rates in mind.
Rate for Au-pairs is a bit different between $8-$11/hour as the family provides accommodation and food as well. The rate is also based on their experience and skills, additional duties etc.
What about other skills?Our babysitters and nannies have listed a range of wonderful, varied skills and talents on their profiles. Many speak other languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Hindu, Arabic, Chineese, etc.), play music (guitar, piano), play sport, dance or engage in the arts. So you can choose a carer with specific skills to enjoy with your children and family!
Can I book my babysitter directly?No, all bookings need to be done through Best Nannies. If you do not so, be aware you breach the Terms and Conditions. Also if you don't book a nanny/babysitter or Au pair through Best Nannies, your carer won't be cover under our Liability insurance.
What do I do if a nanny doesn't respond to my interview requests or fails to show up to an interview?We certainly don't expect our nannies to behave like that, however we can’t control certain situations. If such a situation does arise, please contact us immediately. However, do give our nannies the benefit of the doubt initially, as they may have been unable to return communication immediately for personal or other reasons.
